The Hotel Altmünchen invites you to a tour of its website. See for yourself a hotel that makes you feel at home in Munich, where you can experience Munich’s attractions. Our lobby is adorned by portraits of the Münchner Kindl, the city’s heraldic emblem, the Viktualienmarkt gourmet food market, and the Angels against a white and blue ceiling, and is manned 365 days a year to welcome you.
The rooms are furnished in the style of a traditional Munich townhouse. The rooms are decorated and furnished to be welcoming and comfortable, rather than following the dictates of fashionable design – but with the benefit of the latest facilities and equipment. Not for nothing is Bavaria known for "laptop and Lederhose”, combining modernity and homeliness ;)
The rustic surroundings of theMühlbacher tavern
presents an inviting spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the summer, you can linger in the quiet beer garden, listening to the murmur of the Auermühlbach millstream.
The nearby River Isar together with the museum island, where the famous Deutsches Museum is located, provides delightful prospects for walking at any time of year. There is also plenty on offer by way of culture. Gasteig (the home of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra for example) and the Gärtnerplatztheater are within easy walking distance. Opposite the hotel stands the impressive Mariahilfkirche church, which hosts the Auer Dult market that is held within its curtilage three times a year. Another attraction is the famous or infamous Nockherberg, whose attractions extend beyond the local stout ale season. Welcome to Munich. The Altmünchen Hotel is your home from home in Munich
The Hotel Altmünchen has a central location, but without the hustle and bustle of city life. It is less than 20 minutes’ walk to the Marienplatz, the heart of Munich, and to the Viktualienmarkt gourmet food market - even less by public transport. And the route certainly has sights worth visiting. For example you pass through the Isarauen nature reserve and the lively Gärtnerplatz district.
With bus stops, underground and suburban railway stations nearby, you can get out and about without your car, which you can leave safe and secure in our underground car park. The famous Nockherberg district and the Auer Dult market are right on the doorstep, with their typical Bavarian flair. The Deutsches Museum is just round the corner, always an option for rainy days. Revellers will find the Kultfabrik and the Optimolwerke open into the early hours of the morning - but don’t worry, in the hotel you won't hear a thing.
